THE PHANTOM TOWN OF ARGLETON

News has recently been spreading about a small Phantom town called Argleton, that appears on Google maps but doesn't actually exist!

According to the map it's a town near Ormskirk, Lancashire, UK just off the A59 route.

On arrival the area is a large muddy farmers field! Interestingly enough there is another town nearby with a similar name called Aughton. It is widely believed that it is an honest mistake of the the map makers.

Others speculate that it was intentional to stop other companies copying the map. If they did they could see who was abusing the copyright. But at this time it is just speculation, and an investigation is taking place.

Amazingly you can search online for the towns weather forecast, property prices, local tradesmen and more.

I think its all rather interesting, and has got people talking. I can see someone trying to buy the field soon to capitalize on the huge popularity it's gained across the globe.

It will also get some tourists to the area, just so they can see it for themselves i'm sure.

I wonder how that could happen. Pretty interesting though.
