FAST DRYING TRAVEL SOCKS

These socks from Tilley have been specially designed for travel

They have a Moisture-escape panel for extra breathability and a ribbed arch to cradle your feet.

These features will keep your feet dry. aired and prevent blisters.

Also they haven't got any toe seams either that you are going to feel and be irritated by.

A huge advantage is you can actually rinse them through, wring then leave overnight and they will be dry by morning!

Tilley's suggested that you would only need 2 pairs of these socks to travel the world!

GRAN CANARIA: Las Tartanas Bungalows Review

When me and my husband visited Gran Canaria we stayed on a bungalow complex instead of apartments for a change, and it was worth it.

The site is called Las Tartanas Bungalows, and is a peaceful setting away from all the hustle and bustle, yet still close enough for all the facilities.

It's only 700m from the beach, you have got an on site swimming pool, your close to the Kasabah shopping centre that also has plenty of bars, amusements and restaurants.

The bungalows are 1 and 2 bedrooms. The 1 beds are definitely an ideal size for 2 people.
You are greeted by your own lovely private patio and garden area that takes you to an open plan lounge and kitchen setting.

Then you have a separate bedroom, bathroom and a small airing room for drying your clothes.
The accommodation service is great. the bungalow is cleaned 5 times a week, and you get 3 towel changes.

We would stay there again, if we ever went to Gran Canaria in the future.

BRITAIN'S RED PHONE BOXES

These red phone boxes are famous throughout Britain, and are a popular tourist spot for picture opportunities.

The story behind them was a competition was held in 1924 to design a kiosk.

In 1925 this design won and a 1,000 was reproduced.
By 1980 there were 73,000 throughout the country.

Unfortunately with the rise of people now having mobile phones, phone boxes arn't so popular anymore.

So alot of these phone boxes were torn down or replaced with a more modern phone box (see below)

Since 2002 BT phone company have torn down about 30,000. There are around 12,700 left now.

There still are some of these red phone boxes about where there were built originally. Others can even be seen in museums, and sometimes bizarrely as a feature piece in peoples gardens!

FLYING TIPS

Drink plenty of water and/or juice
This keeps you hydrated throughout the journey
Avoid caffeinated soft drinks, tea or coffee as this would have the opposite effect.

Exercise
I'm not talking aerobics or anything here! Gentle ankle exercises and stretches will get your blood circulating, and stop your body from getting cramps.

Chew Gum or Boiled Sweets
This helps with changes in the air pressure for popped ears, and takes your mind off the flight

Use Travel Pillow/Cushions
You can take your own, or usually hire these on the plane. If you suffer from neck or back pain these are ideal, as you will feel alot more comfortable

Carry Basic Toiletries
This would be deodorant, face spritz (for cooling down) and moisturiser (to help soothe skin from the dry air)

Wear Loose Shoes
Your feet will swell during the flight. So make sure your shoes can expand a little. Sandals or flip flops are usually best

TRAVEL PILL BOX

When we need to take our travel pills, if you keep them in their originally packaging you can easily forget how many you have taken and when.

Also the cardboard packaging can get damaged really easy.

It's much better if you can put them in a hard case, like this one pictured.

It has 2 sections for the different times, so you know exactly what you have taken.

It's small enough to fit in your pocket, purse or hand luggage. You can find out more from here

AEROPLANE FOOD - What To Expect

If you have never flown in an aeroplane before and wondering what the food is like, the picture above will give you an example of what to expect.

Your main meal will be a microwave one purely for quickness and convenience.

You usually get a drink, snack and pudding with your meal too depending what time of day it is i.e Breakfast or Dinner time.

If you have ever had to stay in hospital it's like that kind of set up really, and your served your meal on a tray in your seat.

I really look forward to eating my aeroplane food. I don't know if it's because there is so much on my tray and i don't know what to eat first, or just because i'm hungry from all the travelling!
