FIRST CLASS FLYING: What To Expect

Most of us are aware of first class flying, and know that you get alot more for what you would on an economy flight.

But do you know whats included in first class and what to expect? If not i will tell a bit about it here.

This is just an example. Some airlines may differ slightly in their services, but it will give you a general idea.

Before Flying:

* Private airport lounge for first class flyer's only, where you can get drinks, snacks, newspaper and sometimes Internet access

* The best lounges offer showers and nap rooms too.
* Separate check in area or your own row to queue

On board:

* You are boarded before everyone else.

* Seats at the front of the plane where engine noise and turbulence are minimized.

* Extra legroom seats with recliners, and maybe ones that convert into flat bed seats so you can lie down.

* Pillows and bed linen can be made available if required. Even pyjamas, a toiletry kit and a flight kit (ear plugs, travel socks etc)

* A menu is given to you for food offering several choices, unlike economy where you get what you are given.

* The food is served to you course by course on proper plates and free drinks are included with your aeroplane meal

* TV screen in your seat offering audio and video's on demand. If these are not used a portable DVD player will be given out.

* Power sockets for Internet access.

Getting off board:

* You will be the first off the planes and into the customs area.

* Some airlines offer a limousine service to transfer you to and from the airport. A porter is on hand to carry your bags.

***

Like i said above this is just an example of what to expect. Some airlines may vary in what they offer, so it's always best to check with your airline to see what is included in the price your paying.

IMPRESSIVE DETAILED HOTEL SEARCH SITE

Example of a Hotel Search result

I decided me and my husband could do with a break somewhere. Since we cant really afford a holiday i thought an overnight stay in a hotel would be good.

But when i was looking around i specifically wanted a hotel with a restaurant and room service. I got so tired of browsing the Internet, until i came across Hotels Combined

I was really pleased that i could search for hotels in the area i wanted. Not just the area itself but by the specifics too like ones with a swimming pool, parking, high speed Internet, fitness room, disabled access and the restaurant and room service features i was looking for.

You can search for hotels from all over the world, view pictures of the hotels including the interiors, price, distance, star ratings, map, attractions nearby and search in advance for the date your looking for and the rates you will be looking at.

A hotel details page

I was overwhelmed by all the information that was on offer and in one place too, and was pleasantly surprised to learn you can read real customer reviews too. And yes there are good and bad ones, and not just biased reviews that have been wrote by the hotel itself.

The reviews were particularly interesting to me as i found a few hotels where they didn't look that great from the outside, but after reading reviews on good service and accommodation it was really useful. It was the same for the reviews that told me places were not so good too.

When you have found suitable accommodation you can book directly from the site with popular reservation companies, that will link you directly to their site so you can make a secure online payment.

I was impressed with the site, and will be using it in the future to book accommodation. Hopefully it will help you with what your looking for too.

LUDLOW CASTLE, SHROPSHIRE, ENGLAND

There are many castles in England. Some only have remains left from when they were attacked at war, and deteriorated over the years.

But there are some that have quite alot of remaining pieces, that still resembles the look of a castle. Ludlow is one of those.

One of the areas inside the castle. Most likely to be a living area

The castle was originally built around 1138, although the date is not certain. The purpose was for a Norman fortress to hold back the unconquered Welsh, but then after being extended over time became a royal palace in 1461. It stayed that way for 350 years then was abandoned in 1689.

The castle was then taken over by the Earl of Powis in 1811, and he has since allowed it to be open to the public.

View of the castle with surrounding residential properties nearby.

The houses wouldn't have been there originally, and have been built more recently.

As well as being a great tourist attraction for people from around the world, the castle is also available for festivals and wedding ceremonies. Tourists can enjoy a restored part of the castle that has now made into a tea room.

If you want to find out more about the history of the castle and the kings and queens over the years that ruled the throne. Or visit there yourself have a look at the official Ludlow Castle Website

EIFFEL TOWER, PARIS

The 19th Century Eiffel Tower is one of the most recognized landmarks in the world.

Also known in French as 'Tour Eiffel' it is the tallest building in Paris, and the most visited tourist attraction in the world.

The tower's height is 1,063 foot tall, and is made from 10,000 tonnes of steel.

Creator Gustave Eiffel originally made the tower to be an entrance arch for the World's Fair back in 1889, and named it after himself.

There are 3 access levels for tourists. You can get to the first level by walking up 300 steps! Or if you want to venture a little higher you can walk a further 300 steps to the 2nd floor, or take a lift to the 3rd.

Surprisingly level 1 and 2 have restaurants, although you wouldn't be able to tell that by looking at the picture alone.

The interesting monument that looks quite plain and basic in the day can be see below lit up magnificently at night time.

No wonder many say Paris is the most romantic place in the world
