CAMPING PODS: The New Tents?

If your thinking of taking a camping trip in the United Kingdom, you could try ditching your tent in favour of these rather cool Camping Pods.

Many holiday parks are offering these timber built homes in the shape of a tent for as little as £20.00 per night.

They can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children, and have been designed to keep you warm and dry in all weather conditions.

Interior example

You even get a modern decked seating area, which makes a much nicer prospect then being seated on grass that might be muddy.

I think they are quite sweet and definitely one of those 'I did it once' things you would have to do at least.

But does it take the fun out of camping do you think? Would it be more like sleeping in a shed?

And isn't the wind blowing or rocking the tent and strange noises in the night etc all part of the camping experience after all?

Well, now that I'm 65, I think that this appeals to me more than sleeping in a tent. This is probably better at keeping critters out!!!

Give me a real tent anyday, sleeping in a garden shed doesn't really appeal to me.

Look nice, suitable with the cold weather in UK, but it sure will be hot here at MY place with no proper air vent. But suitable for families. Teenagers might prefer traditional camping gear...

I would love to sleep in one of those things! Especially if it was made of cedar or pine, would smell heavenly, mmmmm.

Cute, but I think I'd feel closed in. Though I would imagine it would dryer than tents sometimes are, it would also be colder. A tent can heat up pretty quickly with the body heat of 2 people. Then another plus would be packing would be easier.

Interesting

Not really my kind of thing although it'd be great when you go camping in a group with a few people who hate tents. You could pitch the tents around it.

I think one would look fantastic in my garden as a kind of summerhouse :-)
